Richmond's housing is noticeably newer than the broader service area. The median home here was built around 2004, where the wider region we cover runs closer to a 1987 median, built out mostly across the 1970s through the early 2000s. That's close to two decades of difference, and in garage doors, two decades is the gap between original steel sectional doors on torsion springs and the older extension-spring, single-panel setups still common in older pockets nearby.
Richmond is also smaller by household count than several of the towns we serve, at roughly 1,305 households, and it runs wealthier, with a median household income around $113,233 against an $87,500 median across the service area. That combination tends to show up as better-maintained original equipment, more insulated steel doors rather than older wood panels, and openers that have at least been replaced once rather than run thirty years past their design life.
None of that means nothing breaks here. It means what breaks is different, and newer, than what we see in the oldest pockets of our coverage.
